Portland Youth Soccer Association ("PYSA") is pleased to announce its selection as Skyhawks Sports as its sole provider of camps and clinics for its members. PYSA is one of the largest soccer associations in the Pacific Northwest. PYSA President, Jeff Enquist, says, "We have been working with Skyhawks for years, and we are extremely pleased to continue the relationship on this extended contractual basis. Our members have been really happy with the quality of Skyhawks Camps."
Under the terms of the new agreement, Skyhawks will be the exclusive provider of PYSA's youth soccer camps. Skyhawks will also provide coaches' clinics and training, as well as discounts on athletic equipment and apparel. Additionally, Skyhawks will contribute general help to the Association with promotional events and tournaments.
Skyhawks has been providing quality youth sports camps for 29 years, working with over 1 million athletes and thousands of coaches. The organization is active in 24 states and Canada, making it the largest youth sports provider in North America. Many local high school and college coaches began their coaching careers at Skyhawks. Skyhawks anticipates serving over 90 thousand campers in 2008, partly in collaboration with PYSA.
Jeff Enquist notes that one of PYSA's primary aims is to provide children with the opportunity to play soccer at various levels. Skyhawks addresses that need with three levels of soccer camps: Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced. Thus, the association between the two organizations will offer children the opportunity to play and learn at the level that best suits them. A complete list of this summer's programs can be found at http://www.skyhawks.com.
Dave Berto, President of Skyhawks, explains that Skyhawks' goal is to teach life skills through sports, while PYSA's goals are to teach the skills, rules and regulations of soccer in a sportsmanlike atmosphere, to promote the game of soccer, and to organize and facilitate inter-club play for youth. "The goals of our two organizations are highly compatible," concludes Berto. "Together, we'll just be able to provide better service. It's a real win-win situation."
