Target Supports National Partners with 'Gifts for Greater Good'

2nd November, 2007

As part of its commitment to support national nonprofit partners and the communities they serve, Target created an exclusive holiday product collection, providing guests with a chance to help support organizations such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(R) and The Salvation Army. With the purchase of each item in the Target "Gifts for Greater Good" holiday collection, funds will be directly donated to various causes, allowing shoppers to feel even better about the gifts they give, and maybe even receive, this holiday season.

In addition to benefiting the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fourth annual Thanks and Giving(R) campaign and The Salvation Army, the Target collection will support other national partners, including United Through Reading, Kids In Need Foundation, Children's Cancer Research Fund, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Animal Rescue Foundation, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

"This year we are thrilled to offer an expanded holiday gift collection that benefits several special causes," said Laysha Ward, vice president, community relations, Target. "By purchasing items in this collection, our guests will have the opportunity to directly support nonprofit organizations and the people they serve, which we hope will make their holiday shopping more enjoyable and meaningful."

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving Campaign

Target has been a valued partner of St. Jude since 1999 when it first opened Target House, an innovative approach to long-term housing for families whose children are receiving life-saving treatment at St. Jude. Funded by Target and its vendor and celebrity partner contributors, this unique facility is free-of-charge and enhances the quality of life for its residents, giving them a home-away-from-home.

This marks the fourth year that Target has been a major contributor and sponsor of the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, which asks consumers to "Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not." Funds raised by the campaign support the life-saving mission of St. Jude to find cures for desperately ill children in communities everywhere. Available exclusively at Target, a variety of gifts offered in this year's holiday collection will directly benefit St. Jude, including a whimsical plush elephant GiftCard holder, limited-edition Choxie(TM) Thanks and Giving(R) Truffle Tiles chocolate gift box, Target Photo Lab holiday cards and American Greetings holiday cards, all of which include original artwork and designs from St. Jude patients and Target House residents.
